External Insulation System
How is it installed?
- The insulation is mechanically fixed to the exterior wall of the property by one of our installers.
- A bonding agent is then layered over the insulation, which will add a weather-resistant layer, and a mesh is then embedded into this agent to add strength.
- Finally, a layer of external render is applied over the mesh in your preferred colour. This will make your home look fresh and significantly improve energy efficiency.
External insulation comes as part of a system, which is fixed to the exterior wall of the building. This allows you to choose the colour of the render. This finish can completely transform the appearance of your home, making it look fresh and modern. Insulating your home helps reduce energy costs and, what is also important, maintains a cozy warmth inside. The purpose of thermal insulation is to create a barrier around the house to prevent heat loss on a cold day, and to reduce the amount of heat reaching the interior on a hot day.
What are the benefits of external wall insulation?
- External wall insulation can be applied with minimal disruption
- It does not reduce the floor space of your property
- External wall insulation upgrades the appearance of external walls
- By protecting your property's brickwork, the lifespan of your walls will be increased
But most importantly...
...External wall insulation will save energy and reduce the cost of your heating bill!
How does it work?
Heat moves from warmer to colder areas. This is what causes buildings to get colder in winter and hotter in summer. It happens through one or more of the three heat transfer mechanisms:
- Conduction
- Convection
- Radiation
Thermal insulation works by restricting how heat moves via conduction, convection and/or radiation. External wall insulation prevents heat from escaping through your walls.
